The SX400 uses an individual quad ink system which means each of the four printer ink cartridges can be changed individually if and when they have run out of ink, this works out to be economical in the long run as no ink gets wasted. A set of Epson SX400 ink cartridges costs around £30 which may seem expensive but compared to similar printers from other manufacturers it’s actually not be bad. The real value for money however is to be found in the compatible Epson ink cartridges which cost half the price at £15 a set. Compatible ink cartridges print the same amount of pages as the genuine OEM products and don’t as some people believe damage the printer. The availability of cheap compatible ink cartridges make the SX400 a very affordable multi function printer and its performance is a good as its value, its print quality surpasses expectation of something in this price bracket and scanner is impressive too. The photo copier works without the need for a PC to be connected to the SX400 and produces great quality copies quickly and efficiently. The only thing there is to find fault with is the operation noise level which is a little high, apart form that the Stylus SX400 is a great all-rounder.
